Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 Lite 5G globally last month and a few days ago the company announced it will unveil a new variant of the smartphone on April 27 in China, called Mi 10 Youth.
Alongside the Mi 10 Youth, Xiaomi will also announce MIUI 12.
The launch will be streamed live starting at 2 PM local time (12:30PM MMT).
The Mi 10 Youth will come in four colors and embed a quad camera setup on the back, 16-megapixel front-facing camera, a waterdrop display notch, and thin bezels. Xiaomi has confirmed that the camera unit includes a high-definition camera accompanied by a wide-angle lens, a macro lens, and a 50x super zoom periscope sensor along with an LED flash.
The Mi 10 Youth, like its global counterpart Mi 10 Lite, will support 5G networks and may be powered by a Snapdragon 765G SoC. It will be 8mm thick and weigh around 200 grams.
According to Gizchina, MIUI 12 comes with a brand-new system for privacy protection.
“Xiaomi’s latest system even got certified by German TÜV Rheinland.”
Dark Mode 2.0
Xiaomi will add a system-wide Dark Mode 2.0 which is an upgrade to the Dark Mode 1.0 on MIUI 11.
According to a leak on Weibo, the system-wide Dark Mode 2.0 will offer a deeper integration by supporting 100’s of apps including the system and other mainstream applications.
Smart Wallpaper Dimming
Through MIUI 12, Xiaomi will present a smart wallpaper dimming feature. This will simulate the light change on the wallpaper according to the time of the day. This is different from the current one which just obscures the whole wallpaper once the dark mode is triggered on. This feature will offer a comparable experience that Apple offers with MacOS. Recently ColorOS, found on OPPO and Realme phones, also introduced a similar dynamic wallpaper feature.
