According to TeleGeography, Telenor has extended its 4G LTE network to six new cities in Myanmar: Taungdwingyi, Aunglan and Pakokku in Magway region; Monywa in Sagaing Region; and Lewe and Pyinmana in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.
Thanks to this new roll-out, the Norwegian operator is now covering 17 locations in 4G. Unfortunately for the Yangonites, the economic capital of Myanmar is not yet one of them.
Telenor is more likely to launch 4G services in Yangon once secured additional spectrum in a compatible band. The new spectrum auction is scheduled for March 2017 which could lead to a nationwide 4G launch right on time for Thingyan.
