According to Myanmar Times, the Ministry of Transport and Communication finally awarded the 4th mobile operator license last week.
The new group called MNTC is composed by the Vietnam’s largest mobile network operator Viettel and a local consortium of elevel Myanmar companies.
MNTC spokesperson U Zaw Min Oo confirmed that the new mobile operator will launch its services in 2018. The brand name has not been revealed yet.
The new comer paid 300 millions US$ for its license which is less than Telenor (500M+ US$) and Ooredoo (1B+ US$).
